Eat More Fruit

I am often asked ” Is fruit okay to eat, what about all the sugar?” Yes, fruit is good for everyone to eat. Eating whole fruit ( not juice or sugar-sweetened dried fruit)  is not the cause of weight gain . The natural sugar contained in fruit, keeps company with fiber and a large volume of water, factors that lead to fullness.

An editorial in the Journal of the American Medical Association by David Ludwig   of Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School confirms my opinion. A recent blog post in the New York times titled Making the Case for Eating Fruit is worth reading too, it should put your mind at ease about fruit and sugar. Then go and eat some fruit with your next snack or meal.
