Strength Training and Diabetes

Published by at 1:04 pm under Diabetes,Health,Strength Training

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention more than 14 million Americans have type II diabetes—a staggering three-hundred percent increase over the past forty years—and the numbers are steadily climbing. Fortunately, studies now show that lifestyle changes such as strength training have a profound impact on helping older adults manage their diabetes. In a recent study of  men and women, 16 weeks of strength training produced dramatic improvements in glucose control that are comparable to taking diabetes medication. Additionally, the study volunteers were stronger, gained muscle, lost body fat, had less depression, and felt much more self-confident.

Go to this CDC site for a safe effective strength training plan , click on exercises and you will find exactly what you need to add a strength training to your exercise routine.

Hi great blog! Does running a blog such as this require a massive amount work?
I have absolutely no expertise in computer programming but
I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyhow, should you have any suggestions or tips for new blog owners please
share. I know this is off subject but I simply wanted to ask.

    Thank you!

If you are interested in starting a blog you should just start. Yes, it takes time but the tools are so easy to use now you do not need any technical skills and trust me I have NONE. Start with a free blog such as at googles BlogSpot. I say just do it, it is the best way to learn and I am still learning.

Sweet blog! I found it while surfing around on Yahoo News.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo
News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there!
    Appreciate it
