A Good Weigh-In- Thanks Weight Watchers

The October 30-November 5, 2011 Weight Watchers  weekly magazine  turned to me and For the Love of Food –  the Diet that works for advice  on how to get a consistent weigh-in every time.  Here is what they wrote on page 8:  ”If you drink 16 ounces of anything before a weigh in, the scale will show a one-pound gain, says Eileen Behan, RD, author of For the Love of Food- the diet that works.”

“Hold the salt. Sodium can cause a rise in weight due to fluid retention, says Behan. Chinese food and fast food can be particularly brutal. If you suspect sodium contributed to weight gain, up your intake of potassium by eating more fruits and veggies, and fish, suggests Behan, who says it can help the body excrete some of the sodium.”

I would have linked to the article if I could, but Weight Watchers does not publish that magazine on line- or at least I could not find a copy. I am sorry I cannot help
