Are you a woman concerned about memory? Veggies may help

Over 13,000 women completed questionnaires about their diets beginning in 1976. Then from 1995 to 2001 they answered tests to assess general cognition and verbal memor, the tests were administered over the phone and repeated again two years later. Comparing the data from the food journals to the results of the memory tests the researchers found that fruit intake was not associated with memory or memory decline. However women consuming the most vegetables specifically the cruciferous ones such as broccoli and cauliflower and the green leafy ones had a much slower decline in memory compared to the women eating the lowest amount of these vegetables. So, ladies let’s eat our veggies, fill half your plate with vegetables at lunch and dinner !
